T O P I C R E V I E Wmargym0oWhat a completely life-changing subject this has been for me the past 6 months. I am obsessed! Finally I feel like I have found something I am really interested in and want to learn everything there is to know about.I'm sure it takes a certain type of person to be open-minded and accepting of such things when many are so skeptical. A belief in something outside of ourselves? Also to be gifted with the abilities to understand it and give readings so fluently is a certain kind of person as well. What do you think?NeptunianSagI have mars in 9th house opposite Neptune and Uranus in 3rd I like learning about these kind of things. Sag NN in 3rd. AlexDernI am open to it but somewhat torn. Learning it has been valuable and I am sure there are plenty of good astrologers. It certainly is one of the most complete projections of the human soul.margym0oI guess my involvement in it stems from seeing its real life application to those around me - when their personalities can, to some extent, be explained by the aspects in their natal charts.I do however believe (or am trying to) that free will always comes into play at the end of the day and it can't be the deciding factor in say, trying to decide to keep someone in your life or not. It's kind of a double-edged sword. It helps but it can hurt too.LionFishI've a 9h sun/merc/venus and a mess of planets/points/points/asteroids in Sag.. Spiritual subjects and learning in general are at the core of who I am.Im not particularly religious by any means, but I do believe that we are souls put here to coexist and learn from everyone we come in contact with.. The idea of astrology has always been of interest to me. Even as a little girl and all I knew the existence of was sun signs, I loved the idea that we were all different and yet, intertwined somehow.. Soulmates libran_dreamWhat a great question! I've just been thinking about this subject for the past few weeks. As mentioned in OP, open-mindedness, yes, necessary, interest in the "occult", yes, willingness to read a lot... I think there are lots of ways to get there, and the main players are probably: PLUTO/H8, strongly aspected MERCURY, maybe some URANUS and VENUS ties for love of the unusual and of exploration, not forgetting JUPITER/H9 for facility with the philosophy of it - for the underlying interest, and then any or all of that tied to SUN and MARS, for actually going through with it. (so basically everything...)I'll leave this heavy lifting to others in the thread , as I'd like to focus on something I've been exploring lately - asteroids. An article I read singled out PALLAS as "the astrologer's asteroid". The author examined the charts of several notable astrologers and found PALLAS prominently placed in all of them. PALLAS has to do with pattern-recognition, which is one of the main tasks of an astrologer, so this rings true to me. I can't recall the site name, but a very quick google search should get you there in a minute.Other than PALLAS, there is a cluster of astrology-themed asteroids. Here are some of them, from LL Reference Library(+Asteria):STARGAZER, ASTROWIZARD, ASTRONOMIA, URANIA, ZVEZDOTCHET, ASTERIA (also maybe check TALENT)8958, 24626, 1154, 30, 6465, 658 (33154)Vajra.mairaStrong Uranus KingofCupsIncredibly dominant Uranus and Aquarius. I mean, cappy.Mercurian IntellectEveryone is always jumping to Uranus when it comes to Astrology It's not Uranus, it's Neptune! Astrology itself is ruled by Neptune! And it's manifestation such as the psychological constitution and altering of it is ruled by Pluto. Uranus just thought up/discovered the ingenious idea and introduced the possibility of Astrology, that's it. It doesn't exactly "rule" it. So essentially, Astrology is ruled by all 3 outer planets to an extent, but mostly Neptune and Pluto. I explained why Neptune rules Astrology itself in a past thread. I don't feel like looking for it or explaining it again.I think having a skill with Astrology has to do with Pluto. And for the interest... I will say that has to do with Mercury or Venus influenced by air or an airy planet in any way. Whether that'd be an air sign, house, aspects to Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune or Mercury and Venus (vice versa, depending on if we're looking at Mercury or Venus), or even an air sign in the 3rd House or 9th House. The 9th House because it is the house of beliefs, and Astrology is a belief... so you will need an open-mind (air sign) to look into the possibility of Astrology being valid.Doux RêveYeah, I think Neptune would be more appropriate for Astrology, actually.Strong Uranian types can be very scientifically-oriented, and therefore despise astrology because it's "gibberish."Sure, Uranus aspects can be supportive, but without Neptune or Pluto in there...LeorpioThen what about Neptune in 1st conjunct ascendant and Uranus? xD
